El Latin American Music Therapy Network (LAMTN) fue formado en 2012 por Patricia Zárate Pérez y Cynthia Pimentel Koskela como una forma de unificar a los musicoterapeutas latinoamericanos e hispanos que viven en los Estados Unidos y en el extranjero. Ese año, Jeniris Garay también participó en lo que fue la Alianza Latinoamericana de Musicoterapia, el primer nombre elegido para el network. Patricia y Cynthia fueron fundamentales en la programación de reuniones latinoamericanas en las conferencias de American Music Therapy y pudieron celebrar la primera reunión ese año. En 2014, Marlén Rodríguez-Wolfe se unió a la organización y ayudó a establecer y avanzar los esfuerzos para una mayor unidad entre los MT latinos. Desde entonces, LAMTN ha crecido como una comunidad en línea que busca apoyar a los musicoterapeutas y aliados latinoamericanos que buscan ser más receptivos culturalmente cuando trabajan con clientes latinoamericanos.

The Latin American Music Therapy Network (LAMTN) was formed in 2012 by Patricia Zárate Pérez and Cynthia Pimentel Koskela as a way to unify Latin American and Hispanic music therapists living in the United States and abroad. That year, Jeniris Garay also participated in what was the Latin American Music Therapy Alliance, the first name was chosen for the network. Patricia and Cynthia were instrumental in scheduling Latin American meetings at the American Music Therapy conferences and were able to hold the first meeting that year. In 2014 Marlén Rodriguez-Wolfe joined the organization and assisted in establishing and moving forward the efforts for more unity amongst Latin MTs. Since then, the LAMTN has grown as an online community that seeks to support Latin American music therapists and allies that seek to become more culturally responsive when working with Latin American clients.
