Nedelka F. Prescod presenta un homenaje musical a su padre, Colón, nacido y criado en Panamá, Roy A. Prescod. Su presentación ofrece una mirada a su padre como su influencia musical personal, y también como una figura significativa en su comunidad de Nueva York como músico y educador. En medio de su tributo, Nedelka entrelaza sus interpretaciones vocales de gospel, jazz y repertorio latino, así como sus pensamientos y aliento como cantante para cantantes. El Sr. Prescod, un importante educador y músico por derecho propio, fundó, dirigió y fue el director artístico de The Roy Prescod Chorale, un conjunto de presentaciones y giras compuesto por cantantes afro-caribeños, afrolatinos y afroamericanos, con sede en Brooklyn, NY. A través de sus más de treinta años de compromiso con el conjunto, su padre ejemplificó y practicó el activismo social artístico y la construcción comunitaria dentro de sus comunidades locales, el Caribe y América Central.

Nedelka F. Prescod presents a musical tribute to her father, Colón, Panama born and raised, Roy A. Prescod. Her presentation offers a look at her father as her personal musical influence, and also as a significant figure in their New York community as a musician and educator. In the midst of her tribute, Nedelka weaves in her vocal performances of gospel, jazz, and Latin repertoire, as well her thoughts and encouragements as a singer to singers. Mr. Prescod, a significant educator, and musician in his own right, founded, directed, and was the artistic director of The Roy Prescod Chorale, a performing and touring ensemble comprised of Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin, and African-American singers, based in Brooklyn, NY. Through his thirty-plus year's commitment to the ensemble, her father exemplified and practiced artistic social activism and community building within their local communities, the Caribbean and Central America.
