Comunicación Alternativa-Aumentativa en Teleasistencia Musicoterapéutica

Las personas con necesidades complejas de comunicación no tienen acceso al lenguaje verbal (ya sea comprensivo, expresivo, o ambos), o bien maneja un vocabulario reducido poco funcional para la comunicación efectiva. Durante el Aislamiento Preventivo decretado en la Argentina los tratamientos musicoterapéuticos que estaban en curso se sostuvieron a distancia en lo que se llamó “teleasistencia”, generando modificaciones globales. Las comunicaciones tomaron formatos diversos a través de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, haciendo más complejos los intercambios para quienes ya tenían estas necesidades. En este marco, el uso de sistemas de Comunicación Alternativa-Aumentativa en las sesiones virtuales de musicoterapia logró el feedback comunicativo entre los pacientes y su musicoterapeuta.

People with complex communication-needs do not have access to verbal language (either comprehensive, expressive, or both), or they have a reduced vocabulary that is not very functional for effective communication. During the Preventive Isolation decreed in Argentina, the music therapy treatments that were underway were maintained at a distance in what was called “Tele-assistance”, generating global modifications. Communications took various formats through Information and Communication Technologies, making exchanges more complex for those who already had these needs. In this framework, the use of Alternative-Augmentative Communication systems in virtual music therapy sessions achieved communicative feedback between patients and their music therapist.
